Forum, Committee, Associations conducting activities for the all-round personality development of students

CULTURAL FORUM

The Cultural Forum conducts 'Talent Search Competitions' in various forms of Fine Arts and Performing Arts like Singing, Instrumental Music, Dance, Dramatics, Cartooning, Mehndi etc in August/ September. Students are also sent to represent the College in various Inter-collegiate Competitions. Every year in the month of December, college hosts its Inter Collegiate Fest 'Mantra'.

GYMKHANA COMMITTEE

To keep students physically fit, the Gymkhana Committee conducts various Indoor and Outdoor Tournaments

Intercollegiate Sports events:

• Students participate in Inter-collegiate Sports Tournaments organized by Junior College Sports Association of Mumbai.

Intra collegiate Sports events:

• Sports Tournaments in Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, Badminton and Cricket.
• Late Madam Smt. Saraswathi V. Memorial Interschool/ college (of NES/SVB group)Chess Competition.
• Diwali Vacation Sports Camp.
• Annual Sports Meet with maximum participation by students and the highlight of the event is declaration of
  1. BEST MALE ATHLETE
  2. BEST FEMALE ATHLETE

STUDENTS' COUNCIL

To develop a sense of social responsibility among students various activities are organized by Students' Council.

• Celebration of World Environment Day.
• Celebration of Days of National importance.
• To generate awareness among students Theme based Monthly Drives are conducted.
• Celebration of Ganesh Utsav.
• Career Exhibition

SCIENCE ASSOCIATIONS

A Scientist can discover a new star and to develop this hidden talent of discovery among students, Science Association organizes various activities.

• Science Exhibition
• Workshops on Scientific themes.
• Other activities conducted by the Association were conducting examinations for:
  1. National Science Olympiad
  2. International Mathematics Olympiad
  3. National Standard Examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Astronomy (Organized by IAPT)
• Students are also sent for participation in T-ward level Science Exhibition.

ACHIEVEMENTS (2011-2012)

• Miss Sanika Nair won 2nd prize in English Elocution Competition In both Ward level & District level.
• Mast. Hardik Mehta and Mast. Santosh Kumar of FYJC won III- Prize in Trizward Quiz Competition organized by Chandrabhan Sharma College.
• Ms Vidya Nadar and Ms. Krutika Parte of SYJC bagged I-Prize in Poster Making Competition on 'Health' at S.K.Somaiya College.
• Ms Vidya Nadar bagged II-Prize in On the Spot Drawing Competition 'Bio Art Attack', held at K.J.Somaiya College.
• Ms Vidya Nadar of SYJC won I-Prize in Poster Making Competition on 'Waste Management' at K.J.Somaiya College.
• Mast. Derell D'Souza of SYJC won II-Prize in Essay Writing Competition at K.J.Somaiya College.
